The demand for rapid content production in today's media landscape has grown significantly in recent years. One recent study revealed that 69% of consumers expect brands to deliver consistent and high-quality content across all platforms, highlighting the increasing pressure on media producers to maintain a high standard of output while simultaneously managing rapid content turnover. This pressure to produce more content, faster, has pushed media companies to rethink their workflows and adopt more efficient technologies. Gone are the days when content production could be a slow, linear process; today, speed and agility are essential for staying competitive.
Enter cloud-native Media Asset Management (MAM) systems—a game-changer in the world of content production. Unlike traditional MAM systems, which are often limited by on-premises infrastructure and outdated software, cloud-native MAM systems operate entirely in the cloud. This allows for seamless collaboration, real-time access to assets, and the ability to scale operations up or down as needed. These systems are designed to handle the increasing volume and complexity of modern media projects, making them essential tools for companies striving to stay competitive in a crowded marketplace.
According to Dan Goman, founder and CEO of the cloud-native media supply chain management system Ateliere Creative Technologies, the traditional media production workflow is highly fragmented and costly, involving numerous separate companies handling different aspects like visual effects, audio mastering, and translations.
“Everything was separate, and somehow, at the end, everything had to come together. It’s honestly a miracle that it worked at all,” Goman said. “Part of the reason productions cost so much is because so many people are involved, and coordinating all those individuals is a massive challenge. Now, what we offer is a platform where those 10,000 people can still work on different pieces, but they do so on one unified system.”
