Ateliere Creative Technologies has announced that Swedish national broadcaster, Sveriges Television (SVT), has executed its first software-defined live sports production during Rally Sweden 2025, the second leg of FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) in Umeå, using Ateliere Live. The WRC’s premier winter event featured drivers navigating snow-covered stages, as the company has claimed in a statement.

Ateliere Live is designed to try to offer a proven workflow that reduces production costs and lowers environmental impact. Replacing traditional broadcast hardware with an a system of software and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, the objective of SVT’s approach is to acquire flexibility, efficiency, and cost savings.

“An entire complex production was delivered using software-based tools and streaming media, marking a major milestone in our evolution toward software-defined workflows”, said Christoffer Ainek, Technical Producer at SVT. “We are beyond the proof-of-concept phase and fully operational with flexible, software-based live production”.
